Morning Education: Measuring Opportunity

MEASURING OPPORTUNITY: New Jersey took first place this year for educational improvements in Opportunity Nation’s annual Opportunity Index, released today. Forty-six states improved, two states saw no change and three states – including Minnesota, Oregon and Vermont – saw their scores go down. The Opportunity Index measures improvements in three areas for education: Preschool enrollment, on-time high school graduation rates and the percentage of adults with at least a two-year college degree.
