Managing Director, Bain Capital

Josh Bekenstein is a Managing Director at Bain Capital, a leading global private investment firm based in Boston. Bain Capital manages several pools of capital including private equity, high-yield assets, mezzanine capital, venture capital and public equity.

After receiving a BA from Yale University, Josh received his MBA from Harvard Business School. Josh serves as a board member of Dollarama Stores, Toys ‘R’ Us, Michaels Stores, Bombardier Recreational Products, Burlington Coat Factory, Waters Corporation, and Gymboree Corporation and Bright Horizons Family Solutions. He is an active philanthropist serving as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, a Board member of City Year, Chairman of the Board of Directors of New Profit Inc., a Board member of New Leaders for New Schools and a longtime member of the Board of Trustees of the Pan-Mass Challenge, the country’s largest charity bike-a-thon, which raises money for the Dana-Farber. He is also a member of the Investment Committee for Yale University.

In 2010, the National Association of Corporate Directors named him Nonprofit Director of the Year. Josh Chairs the Board of Be The Change, Inc. He is also actively involved with ServiceNation, a campaign of Be The Change Inc., as he Chairs that Board of Directors and sits on the Leadership Council. Josh also supports many other organizations, including: Boston Children’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston Medical Center, Year Up, Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
