Opportunity Nation Leader John Sharify Wins Regional Emmy
We are pleased to announce that Opportunity Leader John Sharify, General Manager of Seattle Community Colleges Television, has won a Regional Emmy for his 2012 report, “The New Poor” for KING 5 News Seattle. “The series of stories I did on poverty and the new poor in Washington state were inspired by my involvement with Opportunity Nation,” John said. “I knew how important it was to put a face on the sobering statistics, and fortunately my news director at KING 5 agreed it was one of the most important stories we could tell.”
