Erica Gordon

Erica Gordon has been working in nonprofit communications for the last ten years, starting when she served as an AmeriCorps VISTA for two years after college at Twin Cities RISE, an organization dedicated to transforming lives out of generational poverty through meaningful employment.

Erica most recently worked at City Year, Inc. as a senior communications manager on the national communications team, headquartered in Boston. Before that, she worked at City Year Milwaukee for several years as their first brand & communications manager.

Before moving to Boston in the summer of 2015, Erica spent seven years in Milwaukee working at several nonprofits (City Year Milwaukee, Meta House, and Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee) in communications roles. During that time, she got her Master’s degree in communications from Marquette University through the Trinity Fellows Program, a 21-month study/work program dedicated to developing urban leaders with a commitment to social and economic justice.

Erica graduated from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities in Strategic Communications – Advertising. She enjoys storytelling of all varieties, podcasts, exploring New England (especially as a many-year Midwesterner), continuing to find ways to be a part of her community, cheering on the Packers and the Gophers in the fall, intentionally wandering, and connecting people.

Erica was born in Ozaukee County, Wisconsin. Her 2016 Opportunity Score/Grade is 67.5/A-.
