Paul Kendrick

Paul-Kendrick-Bio-PhotoPaul Kendrick is Opportunity Nation’s Director of Coalition and Grassroots Engagement. He works with partner organizations across the country, as well as Opportunity Nation’s Leaders, on the campaign to increase opportunity in America.

While serving as Director of Policy for Single Stop USA, Paul was actively involved in Opportunity Nation’s 2011 launch. Continually inspired by the campaign’s mission, he was thrilled to become part of the staff in May 2014.

Paul’s passion around opportunity for young people deepened during four years at the Harlem Children’s Zone, where he was director of the College Success Program. Immediately prior to joining Opportunity Nation, Paul was a Special Assistant at the U.S. Department of Education. He served on President Obama’s 2012 campaign as Wisconsin Youth Vote Director and then as an Associate Director on the Presidential Inauguration.

Paul has enjoyed being back where he earned a Bachelors of Arts and Masters in Public Administration from The George Washington University (thus dividing his basketball loyalties between the Colonials and the UConn Huskies). When not advocating progress in today’s world, he writes about what we can learn from history. He has co-authored two books, Douglass and Lincoln and Sarah’s Long Walk.
