Stacy Heit

Stacy Heit serves as the communications and events consultant for Opportunity Nation. She is Opportunity Nation’s former Director of Communications and Events where she led the campaign’s efforts to make economic opportunity a central part of the national dialogue. Stacy also directed and produced all of the campaign’s major events, including the National Opportunity Summit.

Stacy is the principal of sassēvents, llc, a boutique events firm serving individuals, nonprofits and businesses across the country. She is an award-winning events producer with 15 years of experience in nonprofits, trade associations, and museums. Stacy has extensive expertise in producing large-scale events; marketing and communications; and managing multi-million-dollar budgets.

Stacy was formerly with America’s Promise Alliance, where she led the creative conception, production and execution of all Alliance events and meetings, including the Building a GradNation Summit and the annual Promise Night Gala. She also oversaw their rebranding efforts. Previously, Stacy planned and managed major annual meetings, conferences, galas and expos for national and international trade associations and also served as operations manager on the International Spy Museum’s inaugural staff.

A native of Brooklyn, NY, Stacy has a bachelor’s degree in Art History and Archaeology from the University of Maryland, College Park. She currently serves on the board of directors of Artivate, a non-profit that brings access to the arts to youth, families, and correctional facilities in the DC-metro area, and is a past president of the Washington, DC Chapter of the International Live Events Association (ILEA). In 2015, Stacy was the recipient of the ILEA Leadership award, and is a former member of the editorial advisory board of Think ISES for Special Events Magazine.

Stacy was born in Brooklyn, New York.  Her 2018 Opportunity Score/Grade is 56.9/C+.
